Halloween Queen

It is....

right around the corner...

just a few days now ...
My "National Holiday".

Don't you love oil pastels? I find them maddening and a challenge, but so lush. But of course,
Nature trumps them all.
Hope you are enjoying the season wherever you are.

Oh, is the Queen of Halloween shedding tears? Is she sad because her reign is so short? I love the colors of Mother Nature too, and your silly, sweet dog looks so cute! Hope you are well and not working too hard ... but at least we're working huh? Are you joining in the Rally to Restore Sanity on Saturday? We will be in our own little way. Cheers and love, Jeanne

Hi Candace,
Glad you are still around! I like the sparkly dress on your halloween queen. Have you tried oil sticks? Even more lush than pastels!

Hi, Candace! I like your Halloween Queen replete in all of her glorious autumnal splendor. She seems sorrowful to me, as if remembering the sacrifices of the Native Americans and the true story of Thanksgiving. I am glad that it has come to mean celebrating gratitude and family.

What a beautiful Halloween Queen, Candace! (I know...she's crying because it's now all over...boo hoo hoo) The colors you used are sooo pretty, just like the ones in that gorgeous sunset! I love this time of year!!! xo Paulette
