Look at the cover of FLAGPOLE this week! I guess everyone was tired of the cold gray bleh here last week. Therefore, June is busting out all over -- on the cover of this paper, anyway.
A lovely 74F in Athens yesterday, and still balmy enough today to sit outside while having coffee with friend Joe before going to see a movie with T. I would go into detail about what we saw but I know you'd lose all respect for me. Yep, it's got a really thoughtful love story at the basis of it. Think of "Wuthering Heights" with real teeth.
And before you think, "Mmm, she must have needed some mindless entertainment," trust me, I get plenty of that already.
I told Kitten I am buying some Super Sculpey as I have some things I'd like to do but am a little nervous as I've not done it in a while ... and she brings this
This pasta machine is yours for only $12 (twelve dollars) after you turn in the 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby. (At Michaels, it's $24.95.) Cool, huh? Guess who is grabbing one up for her very own this week? Mmmm... and it's good for making actual pasta, too. That's what T says the second pasta machine will be used for... Yum!
Here's this little darling that I am working on. Now if I can find some tee-tiny thin ribbons to loop through the joints... I'm set. And although pink does nothing for me, really, I'm certain Art Shenanigans will tell me which colour is best for this particular piece.
Finding my hand puppets this past week and then shored up by Judy Wise's lovely dolls on her blog inspired me to give it another go. I'll keep you posted as more show up.
Do More of What You Love and take care.

Too cute! I'm still working on my doll's Sculpey head and she's none too happy with me. I've named her "Helen," but Grumpy would work too. I don't think she'll be easy to live with, but oh, well. You never know what you're going to get with these artsy friends we make up. haha Jeanne, who hasn't really gone around the bend
Great! I love the way you're doing the joins; tempted too by the pasta machine. Do your dolls talk to you? Mine do.
Thanks, both of you, for visiting and for your encouragement. Jeanne, how could anything you put a hand to be Grumpy? LOL.
Oh Judy, yes, they do talk to me, lol! This one wants especially nice shoes as he is so plain despite his sweet little face.
Hi there! Thanks so much for popping by my blog to say "hi"!
Have fun with your sculpey! That stuff is horribly addiciting :) I love what you are doing with your little marionette-like figurine! And such a clever way to do the joints.
LOL on the movie. Sometimes you just need to go see things like taht :) There are so many things I read and see that I wouldn't dream of endorsing in a crowd, but that I had fun with nevertheless. A current vampire series for teenage girls being one of them :)
How exciting! I can't wait to see how this little doll turns out. What was the film you saw-I am mystified! Went to the link and saw a picture of possibly Bill Nighe But could not work it out any further! I have spent the evening with paper clay and now have very dry hands! And I still can't do mouths!
Sarah :)
This looks like another 'delightful' in the making ......!
This is something I haven't tried yet?!?!?!

Hi, Candace! My husband is a potter and also works with polymer clay. He has a pasta machine, too, and uses it all the time with the polymer clay. Hope you have fun!
And thanks for your very sweet comment on my blog. You rock! :-)
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I've got beautiful new grandbaby pics today! Woo hoo!
I've never tried "sculpies" or polymer clay or the such.... it looks so much fun!
Unfortunately, I think if I spend another dime on art supplies, I'll end up divorce court. :)
I've always wanted a pasta machine. It would just be to have one....'cause I really can't start another hobby. I feel I'm already a jack of all trades and master of none. Hey I love the vampire craz that's going on....have you seen twilight yet? I'm reading the third book now.
That looks like so much fun! I'm sorry to hear you won't be going to ArtFest this year but I'm very happy to know you are ok and busy creating. :-)
that's so cute! and glad you got some warm weather, i'm freezing!
Happy Valentines Day, Candace!
Wow, it was warmer there than here in AZ! I really like your "little darling".
I have never seen anyone use a pasta maker for a craft...that's just smart!
Take care hon!
