Wyrd Sisters

The title of today's post is also the title of one of my favourite books by author Terry Pratchett, and yes, the witches in it -- as in all stories -- number 3. And it's a hilarious read. Weird Sisters is also what Shakespeare's unfortunate MacBeth called the 3 Witches he visited, among other things. Here they are, haranguing him. (Well, he got what he deserved. They tried to warn him... but noooo.... )

'Wyrd' is an old Norse term. Without boring you to tears, the contemporary and favoured definition is that Wyrd is Fate personified; one of the three Weird Sisters. Ever notice how Fate is always a woman? Rather like Luck.

That's my bedtime story and I am sticking to it.

And so you see them here, in progress for now -- by the light of the Moon, as they happily make their way to this Celebration at A Fanciful Twist next Saturday.

Please note. My girls are less hag-ridden and more paper and frou frou-ridden than MacBeth's!
Of course, a glass of Bibbity Bobbity Boo never hurts.

Sorry it's so fuzzy. But then -- it's that danged Witches' Brew. Gets me every time!

Take care!

Candace in Athens.

Your witches have the most voluptous lips. Love the Wyrd Sisters. I guess if the party's on Saturday I should be making something for the occasion too. Yipes! Inspiration of the Last Minute: That my theory and I'm sticking to it also. -J.

I am getting confused with all these parties. And I haven't even had a glass of that Bibbity Bobbity Boo stuff. I only know about your party. Which is the Mad Hatter's one. Which is the 24th. I hope you haven't cancelled it or changed the dates or anything because that is my only social occasion this year (I don't ever get invited out) and I plan to stun you all with my magnificent hat (which is in production as we speak), perhaps literally.

Hi, again. I needed another drink so thought I would stop by. Check out my prayer blog if you get the chance. thanks for your comments there. You are a swell fan to have. I just had to share the lady's costume with you. You might want to draw a picture of it! It's that great. - Jeanne

Hi, Candace! Sounds like you're having fun making your version of the Three Fates or the Weird Sisters. Enjoy! :-)

Well, hey there, everyone. Thanks, Jeanne, for your visits. Those girls do have lovely lips, don't they?! Why should we always have ugly old crones? Say, that prayer with the Elegant Arrogant model, wow! You are right, I need to draw that.

Poor Anairam! Just hang in there. My Tea "Party" is the 24th. Honest. Here, have some Bibbity.
It'll fix you right up.

Hi Lady P, thanks for your visit and your fun comments! I think Discworld makes as much sense as ours, sometimes, don't you? lol.

Anne, you know I love making these old darlings as much as I love seeing your own cards and photos! Thanks for your visit and sweet words.

Hi Jo! One glass coming up. Or if you're like me, you may very well need to be a two fisted imbiber this time of year. LOL.

Take care, everyone! Hope to see you on the 24th!
