A New Toy!

Hello Everyone!
A short note tonight.

Using my handy dandy 50% off coupon, I managed to snag one of these at Michaels. It's a Xyron, the smallest they have at the 2.5 mark but very sufficient for what is needed/wanted.

Autumn (on the right below) has one and of course, I'd read about and seen them, but she showed me how easy peasy it is when I recently visited her.

Speaking of Autumn, her site is just great and she is a great fun and crafty artist. Her studio was like being on another world to me. (And she makes a great cup of coffee!) More later on the fun we had! Two "Palmetto" girls -- you just can't beat that.

So, back home with the new toy, thinking I would start out a bit higgledy piggledy, I realized I'm a pretty quick learner. Come back this weekend for a tour of my visit with My Peeps and a fun birthday party! Yep, T didn't get enough of having a birthday last year so it's happening again this year!

Happy Birthday!

And have fun with your Xyron. Sounds Battlestar Gallacticaish, although google seems to indicate it is more paperpharanaliaish.

I'm not sure what it is myself, will have to check it out.

And welcome back to Chris!
Home is the sailor, home from the sea, and the hunter, home from the hill.

Thanks, everyone. I think I can make good use of this with paper goods for cards, My Paper Lady Brigades, and whatnot (what DOES that word MEAN?).

Have a great great week, everyone.
And thanks so much for your fun and kind comments!

Hi Sweetie! I hate being the last to arrive at a party...and it seems I'm always late to your lovely posts most of the time! Life's busyness get in the way ... a lot! Can you figure out how to make our days a bit longer??? ;) Well, I'm here now, for my dose of Candace fun!...You know, that new toy looks really cool, they do all kinds of nifty things, don't they? Like make stickers, and laminate. I bought a laminating machine last year, in hopes of making up some cute tags and bookmarks. I haven't even opened the darn box yet! It will be fun to see how you put yours to use! It sounds like you two had a fun visit...did you know that if you go to Michael's.com, you can sign up to get coupons emailed to you?...and you can make copies of your 40% coupon and use it every day for the week it's good for? How great is that! Ooooh, a birthday on the horizon. FUN, FUN, FUN!!!! Hugs, Paulette =D

Liebe Candace,

My question is (and possibly R.L.S.', too) can you not only 'grave that stanza, but... can you xyron it, too?

But your question was about "whatnot" (sometimes what-not)...

Anything whatever; everything; all sorts of things; and, sometimes, as the final 'item' of an enumerated list with the intended usage, therefore, of including any various item besides those items already enumerated in said list.

Those uses all date back to 1540.

As of 1602, it could also be used to denote a person or thing that could be variously named or described, although this is a rarer usage.

Also, since 1808, this has referred to a piece of exhibitary furniture, similar to the French étagère, with open shelves designed to display things.

Autumn's stamp "house" shelf, above the altered sewing kit, is a variant of both the French étagère and the English whatnot.

:)

As the drillbit asked the mineface, Am I boring you?

Tschuess,
Chris

Leave it to Chris to get to the bottom of a word. While I have the old linguistics background that is both blessing and curse, it's like Hamlet's nutted up speech "words, words, words" that make Chris and myself both happy.

Etymology notwithstanding, semantics are everything!

Take care, everyone. Or is it everybody?
