Line Up, Please

Hello Everyone!

Tonight Art Shenanigans is taking us on a tour from the recent and not so recent past.... back when I was only 2-D and often times not even in colour. Yep, plain old flat line drawings that will soon be off their flats and dolled up (oh haha! rich, isn't it?) to go into journals, cards, letters and on to pillows for little presents when I visit friends and family...

This one was inspired by a person I saw a few weeks ago.

Inspired by a book Kitten suggested I read...

Just a line up, please...

Taken from a remark from someone ...

Just A Line Up, Please...

Visiting The Loft this weekend for some special "fabricky" papers for a couple of projects while I hang out for a Rendezvous...

and say, I received a Tea Party invite from a rather new friend. Steampunk Victorian fashions will be de rigeur. Since it's all the way down the road toward the end of June, I will have plenty of time to fashion an outfit. I already have a top hat (yeah, a real one!) and a fantastic magnifying glass pendant... mmm... let's cross our fingers, shall we? Enjoy those links. Yes, I am a little different, I freely admit.
Next post -- COLOUR and how she is spoken. smirk...

These faces are too wonderful to believe!! I love your veiled lady and drawing from people around you, who inspire you to draw them, I mean ... well, my gosh! How cool. What do you do with your drawings? Or what will you do with them? Candace, you are talented! - Jeanne, who's not prejudiced at all

I wish I could draw. How inspiring just to be able to take up your pencil like that.

What great faces! I love the veiled lady one esp. but they all are wonderful!

And ... a tea party with steampunk fashions! Sounds absolutely dreamy. What a fabulous list of resources for steampunk fashion you linked to .. I could get lost looking through those for days and days and days. Looking forward to seeing your costume!

I don't know if links work but that is the dress I would like if I came with you to the tea party!
I like the drawings-what was the book that Kitten said you should read?

Hello everyone. What kind comments and goodness, who'd a thunk plain ol line drawings would have a fan base? LOL. Oh no, Jeanne, no one would accuse you of a bit of bias.

Sarah, the book was "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini. While "The Kite Runner" was a hit out of the ball park, this story simply is out of this world and into the next... very tough in parts, but so wonderfully written, so fantastically measured.
Thanks for that link. What exquisite taste you have.

i think these would look lovely colored in somehow, one at the bottom reminds me of an african princess. Thank you so much for visiting my blog...it is nice to find someone who frequents Judy Wise too. I shall visit often.

Hi, Candace! Love the faces. Of course, I'm a bit confused ... what kind of father tells his daughter she isn't pretty? Seriously! That would be so cold! Keep drawing! :-)
